I cannot judge most talented, but I can judge my feelings, and I get the warm and fuzzies from him in every way. He's got the whole package. He's unique and transcending. At first to old blues heads or happy go lucky jam freaks he comes off as sad, but once comfortable with the Purps (the reds AND the blues) you realize he is not sad as much as he is romantic, emotional, weaving different corners of rock together in a lovely tapestry.

He is Jim James when he's with MMJ, Yim Yames is his folk alter-ego. When he did Monsters of Folk and New Multitudes, he was Yim. Also his George Harrison Tribute he was Yim. I think he might be dropping Yim b/c when you go to yimyames.com it takes you to jimjames.com. So Yim might be retiring? Real name James Edward Olliges, Jr.
